As a child, David was friends with blues legend Hollywood Fats. The two remained close until Fats' untimely passing in 1986. Little wonder, then, that the blues is a place where David feels at home musically. And of course, one listen to the guitar and singing makes it clear that the blues is not just a "genre" for David: it's a part of his soul.
